Company’s Philosophy

Kathleen J. Washpon Foundation encourages open and honest communication among all its members. You'll find that respect and communication are the cornerstones of the foundation’s culture and provides the following resources guided by the following fundamental values:

The right to continuing care,

The right to guidance and relationship,

The right to be treated as important human beings,

The right to know what is good,

The right to appreciate what is good,

The right to express love, affection, and respect,

The right not to be a source of argument,

The right to honest answers,

The right to experience regular and consistent contact with others,

The right to have relaxed, and secured relationships.

Meaningful Leadership occurs when parents and professionals gain the knowledge and skills to function in meaningful leadership roles and represent a “ voice” to help shape the direction of their children, families, programs and communities.

Leadership is successfully achieved when parents and professionals build effective partnerships and share responsibility, expertise and leadership in decisions being made that affect youths, families and communities. The participants involved in these collaborations are called Leaders.

Throughout the country, parents and professionals are working together in new ways participating jointly in local, regional and national planning processes, collaborating as grant reviewers and program evaluators, and serving on advisory boards and coalitions.

Through working together, the voices of parents and professionals are shaping policy and practice to make a positive difference in the lives of parents, children and families.
